 The body of Medellin drug cartel leader Pablo Escobar is examined by coroners at the Medellin morgue (Medellin, Colombia 1993)

Escobar was shot several times in the torso and feet while trying to escape on a rooftop. The fatal gunshot entered his head from his ear. It’s unknown if he shot himself or was killed by search bloc (police)

His daughter claims he told her he’d shoot himself in the ear if he was ever going down. Possibly apocryphal

Pablo taught his family to kill themselves by telling them to shoot around or above their right ear instead of being captured and tortured. Furthermore, his son mentioned right before his father’s death, he called their phone number 6-7 times even though Pablo raised his family to believe that every phone call they make is death since the federal agents/other cartels can triangulate the location. 

His son believes the agents never killed his father but he killed himself in fears of being captured and tortured.

For everyone questioning why his pants are down and such … that’s what they do at the morgue.  They strip you down do an autopsy if needed … they take your organs out and weigh them & basically investigate to make sure of why you died.  Then they put your organs in a bag , put them back into your body cavity and sew it up.  If you’re to be buried they’ll embalm you also … they sew your mouth shut and put a plug in your ass to keep the fluids from seeping out so that no one sees it while viewing the body.  They clean you up . Hair , make up… clothes on but they’re not really on , they’re split up the back bc it’s easier.  Usually no socks shoes and all. You’re not buried w your dentures in either bc it would look bad bc your mouth sinks in after dying.

If you’re cremated then after the autopsy that’s it.   You’re usually not embalmed unless it will be awhile before being viewed.  After fam sees you youre put in the oven and it can take days sometime to be done.  So this is actually a normal photo.  Actually caught at a good time bc normally he’d be unclothed.
