The court judge also forbid him being anywhere near the municipality of Azcapotzalco while the case is investigated during a two-month period, according to a press release issued by the Mexico City Attorney General's office.
The man, who was been identified by various Mexican outlets as Jonathan “N”, is shown by surveillance video footage standing near his idle car as the 18-year-old college woman is walking in his direction in the early hours of September 10.
After noticing a naked man in front of her path, an 18-year-old female student in Mexico City decided to cross to the other sidewalk before a short chase ensued
After noticing the nude man standing ahead of her on the dark sidewalk, the frightened young woman, who was on her way to her university, alertly crosses the street moments before the chase sets off.
He was detained and conditionally released on September 21.
The unnamed university student told Milenio days after she was sexually harassed how the man was following her for a number of blocks before security cameras captured the shocking footage.
The man was standing near the trunk of his car when he failed to grab her attention at 6am local time.
'I passed by him and he said hi. I decided to ignore him,' she recalled.
'I continued going my way and then he got ahead of me. Then you see what happens in the video.'
The surveillance camera then shows the moment the naked offender attempts to make direct contact with the victim, trying to cut short her path.
Soon thereafter, the crazed man made a beeline for the opposite sidewalk and starts to running after the girl, who fled the perpetrator.
The man then runs back to his car before leaving the scene after her screams alerted local residents.
